Tower of the Americas in San Antonio

Tower Of The Americas

The Tower of the Americas has long been a symbol of San Antonio, in addition to the Alamo and Riverwalk. The Tower, as we call it is a great place to see the city from high above. There are two main parts of this attraction. The first being the restaurant, Eyes over Texas and the second being the observation deck. The restaurant has recently been bought and renovated by Landry's and the menu looks outstanding. The restaurant is built on a rotating deck so that visitors to the tower can see all of San Antonio during their dining experience. The observation deck at the Tower of the Americas is open air for visitors while the interior observation deck level has a banquet room and meeting facility.

Downtown San Antonio buildings silhouetted against a south Texas evening sky is extremely impressive but San Antonio's skyline would be incomplete without the Tower of the Americas.

Visiting the Tower of Americas

Seeing the entire San Antonio area from the Tower of Americas awesome as long as you visit on a clear day. The Tower of Americas stands 750 feet tall in downtown San Antonio just south of Rivercenter Mall in Hemisfair Plaza. The base of the tower consists of beautiful landscaping, pools and waterfalls. Once on the elevator, visitors quickly see the layout of the city as the ascent to the observation deck and restaurant is a rapid one and awe inspiring. Flags Over Texas, the tower's observation deck offers views from both indoor and outdoor decks. The indoor observation deck has a walking audio tour detailing San Antonio history as well as labeled pictures for identifying buildings and San Antonio landmarks seen from the towers observation deck. Walking to the outdoor viewing deck, tower visitors immediately notice the cooler temperature as compared to that at the tower ground level. The open air observation deck has plexiglas panels that although are clear to look through, they aren't very good for photographing the city views. The Tower of Americas is an excellent attraction for families visiting San Antonio and the 360 degree view of our city from 750 feet is a sight to behold. Observation deck tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for children.

Restaurant - Eyes Over Texas

What a great, and appropriate name for a restaurant located 750 feet over San Antonio. The Tower restaurant features a split level dining experience giving you a 360 degree view of the Alamo city without even leaving your seat. The restaurant seats 250 people with space for 75 more at the bar. There's plenty of room at the Tower of the Americas for your wedding party, business meeting, or special occasion. Pricey menu but the view's included and well worth it! Eyes Over Texas Menu
