Texas Air Museum

The San Antonio Texas Air Museum is an aviation museum at Stinson Municipal Airport. The museum is not very big but has some very interesting aircraft and aviation exhibits on display both inside and out. The airport runway is adjacent the museum adding to the aviation atmosphere. Rare historical aircraft on display include a German Focke-Wulf, vintage bi-planes, and other planes from the early years of aviation. Displayed outside the Texas Air Museum are three historical military aircraft, two fighter jets and helicopter. The air museum also has weapons, uniforms and vehicles on display. Texas Transportation Museum

The Texas Transportation Museum is primarily focused on trains and rail history. The museum is located just north of the San Antonio Airport off of Wetmore Road and Wurzbach Parkway. Texas Transportation Museum is an outdoor museum with old rail cars, switching locomotives, rare passenger cars and a working railroad. The museum restores old train cars to their original condition for display and enjoyment. Also of interest to many, the museum has a full scale working railroad running the length of the museums property with classes on train and railcar switching. Buckhorn Museum - Hall of Horns

The Buckhorn Museum was formerly known as the Hall of Horns when its home was the Lone Star Brewery. Now located in downtown San Antonio, the Buckhorn has one the most impressive displays of antlers, fish and game mounts in the nation. The Brady Buck (78 points) calls the Buckhorn museum home and is surrounded by more impressive whitetail bucks than any hunter could hope to see in his life. The fish on display include several record breaking fish in the midst of several hundred species of mounted fish. Additionally, the Buckhorn Museum has bird displays, a wax museum, and Texas history displays. If you are staying in a downtown hotel, the Buckhorn is easily accessible and will provide a very unique San Antonio experience for the whole family.
