Currently, two major interchanges are being constructed concurrent with a number of major highway projects. Consequently,San Antonio traffic is a stand-still situation in many places.
Living in the suburbs of San Antonio can be very peaceful and enjoyable. Many new homes are being built in San Antonio and the focus of new residential construction is north of San Antonio. Communities near Boerne, Bulverde, Bergheim and outlying hill country areas north of San Antonio are the hot spots for new houses with large lots and acreage. All of these new developments enjoy a country living lifestyle with beautiful views, natural surroundings and deer at your doorstep. The advantage to rural lifestyle in this region is San Antonio being just a short drive from these beautiful hill country neighborhoods. The only drawback is the roads leading to and from these north San Antonio communities were not prepared for the amount of traffic that currently exists. The rush hour commute can be quite time consuming even though the distance may not be that great. But overall, the San Antonio suburbs and outlying developments are beautifully designed and the Texas hill country surroundings are unbeatable.
