Brooks City Base Landing is south San Antonio's latest retail shopping center. Located at the corner of Goliad and Southeast Military Drive, City-Base Landing has quickly grown into a prosperous area. The continued shopping success of City Base Landing has spawned the openings of more retail shopping centers in the immediate vicinity. Brooks City Base Landing has established itself as south San Antonio's premier retail shopping location.

Brooks City Base

The name Brooks City Base was derived from the its predecessor, Brooks Air Force Base. Brooks City Base is the joint venture between the the city of San Antonio and the Air Force. Brooks maintains its status as an Air Force Base by leasing the base infrastructure from the city of San Antonio and is home to the 311th human systems wing. But as most know it, Brooks Citybase is an uncommon San Antonio shopping treasure on a side of town less known for its shopping.

City Base Landing Shopping

The retail outlets at City Base Landing include retail stores such as Best Buy, Office Depot, and Sherwin-Williams. There are numerous restaurants including the Longhorn Cafe, Buffalo Wild Wings, and El Taco Tote. Fast food dining is available at City Base Landing but the south side of town is full of locally owned restaurants you will want to try.

City Base Landing has numerous shops, stores, and restaurants but the surrounding area is home to just as many stores and retail outlets. This area of town has blossomed into the south side shopping epicenter with a diverse group of store options. San Antonio malls don't have this much retail shopping traffic. Across from City Base Landing is HEB, a grocery store chain (based in San Antonio). Next to that is Target, Radio Shack, Conn's, Whataburger, Home Depot, Petco, etc. Get the point here...City Base Landing consists of many stores including Wal-Mart and the like but the area is full of shopping and dining options. Some of the stores are unique to San Antonio and although Brooks City Base is fairly new, the south side of the city has never seen growth like this before. City Base Landing will go through some initial changes but the overall makeup is one for success. Shoppers can make a visit to City Base Landing for a both a big buying experience and the quick trip to the store. In other words, Christmas lists can be completed by shopping at City Base Landing.

Something important to know is that the roads were not ready for this huge success as a shopping center. Consequently, traffic can be extremely congested in the area, especially the exit from 37 south. Be careful during rush hour in the evening as the drivers a bit apprehensive to get home or to a store in the City Base Landing. In any case, it gets a bit hectic.
