Many people only know Rick Cavender from seeing him in television ads for his Toyota dealership. Little do people know that behind his contagious smile is a good hearted man that is truly selfless, giving, and kind. Another thing about Rick is if he has met you once, he will never forget your name. Rick Cavender is the real deal.

I work for my family's business and our company is a member of a state trade organization. The executive director of our organization is a Marine reservist who regularly travels to San Antonio to spend time with the Marines that were burned in the Iraq war and are in the BAMC burn unit. He called my dad to ask him if he knew of somebody in San Antonio that would be willing to loan a car to a family from New York whose son had been wounded in the war and was in need of transportation assistance. My father called Rick Cavender at his Toyota dealership and asked Rick for a favor.

After explaining everything to Rick about the family from New York, their son wounded in the war, and their need for assistance, Rick said he'd be happy to help. Rick Cavender went a step further. He said he'd be happy to not only loan the family a car but he wanted to go put on a show for this burned soldier and his comrades. Rick has a band, the Rick Cavender Band. He plays at parties and events but he volunteered his band and their time to play for these Marines. Rick Cavender from the Cavender Auto Group and Cavender Toyota spent an evening entertaining a group of burned Marines and their families...because he cares. Rick cares about people. He cares about what is right and he cares about doing good deeds for people. For all we know, he's played several times at the BAMC burn unit. I wouldn't be surprised if he has.

You won't find this advertised on television or in a newspaper but my personal experience with Rick Cavender is one that I readily share with anybody. It makes me feel good to see my friends do good things for people. I will buy a car from Cavender Toyota at some point and I hope many people will do the same. Toyota makes a quality automobile and Cavender Toyota is owned and operated by a quality man.
