What San Antonio site without a guide to hamburgers would be complete. Everybody knows what a hamburger is so we'll provide you with the essential burger information in the San Antonio area. We won't go into recipes or the like. We'll just show you the burger place that we enjoy. If we find a good burger at another type of restaurant, we'll list that hamburger or cheese burger here as well. Almost all restaurants in San Antonio have burgers on their menu, even Mexican restaurants so finding a burger to eat isn't hard here in the Alamo city. We'll just show you what we think are the best burgers in San Antonio.
A Longhorn cheeseburger is probably my favorite in San Antonio. You can get chicken sandwiches and all that other but this is a must try for burger connoisseurs. Cold beer, good fries and rings, and an outstanding cheeseburger. Don't pass this burger joint up. Two locations:
Awesome burgers and worth the trip!

Chester's Hamburgers is a local chain with great burgers. We enjoy these burgers regularly because they have several locations in San Antonio.

Home of the Macho burger. Chris Madrid's is packed for lunch and dinner six days a week (Monday thru Saturday 11am to 10pm) and yes people probably do eat Chris Madrid's burgers at 10 in the morning. One of the great things about their burgers is the amount of cheese they use for their cheeseburgers. Check out the Chris Madrid's menu. This burger restaurant is the recipient of numerous awards as well as being written about in Texas Monthly.

Burgers and malts are their specialty. They put grated cheddar cheese on their burgers. Options include chili burgers and bean burgers. This burger joint also has a great Frito pie that deserves mention. Check out the Cheesy Jane's Menu. Three locations:
Pretty good burger joint in the Alamo Heights area. The restaurant just across the street from the Quarry market. The burgers have a similarity to Chris Madrid's (which means they're good!) but with a different bun. Flip Burger also has some of the best cheese fries in San Antonio. Burgers are the norm here but an order of Super Fries can feed a large man easily. If you happen to be shopping in the Quarry market or playing golf at the Quarry Golf Club, drop in to Flip if you're in the mood for a great burger. The outdoor patio is great for families and groups. Flip burger is a quarry hotspot for hungry folks.
*Interesting note - Flip Burger restaurant used to be the laboratory for the Alamo Cement Plant. Alamo Cement is now the Alamo Quarry Market.

This restaurant is a barbeque restaurant but one item on the menu undoubtedly belongs here. It is a unique burger that hundreds, if not thousands of San Antonians have eaten and it's called the Terrace Burger. This burger has double meat and cheese with a special sauce that makes this one of San Antonio's best burgers. I don't know what's in the sauce on the Terrace Burger but this specialty burger is what I order every time I visit the Bun-N-Barrel. Order lemonade with this burger. It's made the old fashioned way.
